Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us is retained as needed to prepare a response. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive limited technical information whenever a page loads, including:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic, popular pages, and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that usage data for reporting. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We neither keep nor sell a database of personal criminal records. Our published material explains how to reach Rock County agencies, Wisconsin Circuit Court Access, the Wisconsin DOJ Crime Information Bureau, and the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy, retention schedule, and sharing rules govern information submitted to its tool. Review those terms before running a query because we do not control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside tools. Once you leave, the destination's privacy practices apply. Check them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed in limited form to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures protect collected information, but no internet service can guarantee perfect security or that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A confirmed minor's information will be removed when required.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide rights concerning personal data. Wisconsin Public Records Law, Wis. Stat. §§ 19.31-19.39, governs records held by public authorities and does not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to law and technical limits, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as practices or legal requirements change. A new version will appear here with its updated effective date.
